 What is Jet Reports Certification

Jet Reports Certification is a way for you to demonstrate your expertise to customers and colleagues and gives you access to early information about Jet Reports best practices and new products. Jet Reports certification also insures that customers can have confidence that the information they receive is from certified experts and the expertise is consistent worldwide.


Jet Reports Certification has three levels:


1. Jet Reports Certified Specialist: 
The Jet Reports Certified Specialist (JCS) is designed for the Jet Reports designer who can demonstrate skill in the use and creation of Jet Reports.

 
2. Jet Reports Certified Professional:
 A Jet Reports Certified Professional (JCP) has the skills to successfully implement and support Jet Reports as part of a business solution in an organization. It is designed for implementers, consultants, and advanced Jet Reports Users.


3. Jet Reports Certified Trainer: 
The Jet Reports Certified Trainers are the premier technical and instructional experts in Jet Reports, technologies, and solutions. They ensure a superior learning experience for Jet Reports customers and are the only individuals that Jet Reports authorizes to deliver training that is based on Official Jet Reports Training Materials. To obtain certification as a JCT, the individual must first obtain a JCP and demonstrate instructional presentation skills.

Demonstrate Instructional Presentation Skills by providing proof of training expertise from a suitable certification agency or organization such as:

5.  Who can be certified?

Anyone who meets the requirements of certification.

6. How long is the certification good for?

Certification will expire depending on how much Jet Reports changes from one release to the next. No certification will expire without at least 180 days notification that certification will expire, providing ample time and opportunity to become certified on the latest version of Jet Reports.

7. How do I get certified?

Certification first requires that you register as a student on our Jet Reports academy site. Once registration is complete, you can then choose which type of certification you want to obtain, and schedule an online exam. Once you have successfully completed the online exam and depending on the certification that you wish to receive, additional steps may be required to complete your certification.

Here are the steps to get certified:

1. Register for certification.

  • Go to www.jetreports.com/certification  and select the “Click Here to Sign up for (JCS) or (JCP)” button (If you’d like to achieve JCT certification and you’ve already earned a JCP, please email certification@jetreports.com with your JCT qualifications).
  • Select which certification level you wish to achieve: JCS, or JCP and proceed to checkout
  • If this is your first time, register for the e-commerce site or log in and fill out the necessary forms.
  • Click on “Sign me up!”
  • Within 10 minutes, you will receive an email with instructions, link and login information to take your test.

2. Study Knowledge Base on support site.

  • www.jetreports.com/support

3. Take test.

  • Go to URL in email received after registration. The tests will consist of random multiple choice, fill-in-the-blank, mix-and-match, and other question types.
  • Once you’ve completed your test, you will receive your results and an email confirmation.
  • If you pass, you’ll receive further communication from us regarding receiving your certificate, or what else is needed before you earn your certification. 
  • If you don’t pass the test, you will be able to retry once for free.

4. Submit additional materials to certification@jetreports.com if obtaining JCP or JCT.

  • JCP needs to submit report for review for best practices.
  • JCT additionally, needs to submit training certifications.

5. Review period to grade submissions.

  • Allow 10 business days.

6. Receive email about report and training submissions.

  • If you fail, you'll receive an email about any missing components.
  • If you pass, you'll receive a congratulations email with additional information.

7. Receive Certificate of completion.

For Specialist
You will receive an email with your certification logo and further information. You are done. You will also receive a Certificate of completion in the mail.

For Professional
You will receive an email with further instructions for submitting your original report for review.

For Trainer
If you pass you will receive an email indicating passing along with your logo and a certificate of completion will be sent to you.

8. How do I prepare?

All answers to the certification questions are in the Jet Reports knowledge base on the Jet Reports support site. For further information you can refer to the Jet Reports community site and the documentation available with the product.

2. Use the community site to learn what other Jet Reports users do.  community.jetreports.com

3. Help on the Jet Reports ribbon within Excel.

4. Attend a Jet Reports training session.

9. How long is the test?
The exams are approximately 30-38 questions and should take less than 35 minutes to complete.

10.  What if I don’t pass the test the first time?
You can review the material in the Jet Reports support site Knowledge base and take the exam again.

11.  How many times can I take the test?
With each paid exam, you may retake it one time for free. If you need more that 2 chances, you must pay again.

12.  Where do I take the test?
Sign up for the online exam at www.jetreports.com/certification.

13.  How much does it cost?
You will be asked to pay the following fees when you register for the exam. The fees are payable by credit card online.

JCS: $29.95 USD

JCP: $79.95 USD

JCT: There is currently no additional cost to be certified as a JCT.

14.  What is the benefit?
“A Firm Foundation of Skills” - Preparation for certification requires that you cover all aspects of Jet Reports, including installation and configuration, report development, and support of existing installations.

“Industry Recognition” of your knowledge and proficiency with Jet Reports products and technologies.

“Special Invitations” to Jet Reports conferences, technical training sessions, and other special events.

“Career Opportunities” by earning a Jet Reports certification verifies your expertise in working with Jet Reports and shows that you are a technical leader with the ability to successfully use Jet Reports as part of a business solutions for your organization or client.

“Logo and Certificate” to identify you as Jet Reports certified to colleagues and clients.

15.  Can I get CPE credits?
Currently, Jet Reports does not offer CPE credits for certification.

16.  Will I get a certificate?
You will receive a certificate and logo as part of your certification kit.

17.  How can I market myself as Jet Reports Certified?
You can market yourself as certified by announcing to your colleagues that you are Jet Reports certified. You can market yourself by using the logos a provided or using the appropriate phrases "Jet Reports Certified Specialist," "Jet Reports Certified Professional," or "Jet Reports Certified Trainer" in text.

It is unacceptable to use JR as a shorthand for Jet Reports. You have three types of logos: PNG file format for Microsoft Office use, JPEG (low resolution) for Web use, and Vector format (high resolution) for print.

You can post your certification logos on your web site, put the logo on your business card or marketing materials. You must follow the guidelines provided in your certification kit.

18.  Does the certification stay with my employer or with me?
It stays with you. Certification is based on the individual, not the employer.
